ImplOED: Implementing Outreach, Empowerment and Diversity
The implOED project aims to increase the participation of marginalised groups, especially migrants and ethnic minorities in adult education and to empower the diverse learners to become active citizens, based on the results of the OED Grundtvig network project.
The implOED project gives the opportunity to mainstream the results of successfully guidelines for trainers and staff in adult education and implement them at different levels (policy and providers) as well as transfer them to different sectors (vocational, basic skills, etc.).
The ImplOED project offers policy-makers and adult educators tools to engage socially and educationally disadvantaged adults in lifelong learning. They aim at ensuring learning opportunities for marginalised groups, such as migrants, minorities and adults that are caught in a low-skilled trap, thus making adult education more inclusive.

Methodology
The methodology of the project was that the consortium worked in two clusters:
Implementing OED on the provider level: six partners had their focus on staff, managers and trainers/teachers in adult education. They relied on their membership and their knowledge of the challenges in their geographical areas to adapt the guidelines to the training needs in their countries and regions.
Implementing OED on the policy level: five partners had their focus on regional, national and European policy-makers by informing and training policy-makers on the concepts and implementation of OED.
All the partners monitored the questions, challenges and successes of their activities through an impact assessment.
The final product of implOED is an instruction manual for implementing OED that will bring together the learning points of all the partners, propose concrete solutions on how make outreach, empowerment and diversity a reality as well as suggestions on how to transfer the OED products to different sectors and geographical areas.

Impact on target groups / Transferability potential
The ImplOED project aims at helping adult education institutions to develop successful outreach work, enhance empowerment of learners and increase diversity in adult education.
With the OED Guidelines for Trainers and Management Staff in Adult Education, managers, course designers and practitioners in adult education institutions, can use this in their daily work with socially and educationally disadvantaged groups.
This way they are able to raise awareness for outreach, empowerment and diversity programs offered by adult education institutions.
A transferability potential is given because of the main resource of the project the manual, it encourages people to be active in whatever part of adult education practice and policy they engage with.
It shows what works and how you can implement it where you are.
